It's Not Right or Wrong, It's Just Different

Day one is now coming to a close, but it felt more like 3 days. After loading the vans at 2:45 am, we arrived at MSP in plenty of time to check our bags and go through security. I was the only one with an issue at security, but we worked things out without any of my belongings being confiscated. Our early morning departure went smoothly, and as we arrived at Miami, we were blessed to arrive at the gate adjacent to the flight heading down to Santiago. We enjoyed the same The Office and Community episodes we watched on our last flight and were in Santiago in no time. Security in Santiago was extremely relaxed and soon we were on a chaotic drive from Santiago to Jarabacoa. Driving is very different over here, as the lines in the road are only suggestions and speed limits are non-existent. After we got settled in our camp, la Salle, we took a drive down to a river and swam with some locals. The little boys running around seemed to have no fear of danger whatsoever, so Stanley made friends instantly.
One thing we did learn was that it is not an issue of right and wrong, but it is just different. They things are done, the way they drive, the way the play is just different. We will learn more as we go.
Now it's time to get some rest after not sleeping in a long, long time (36 hours + for me). Goodnight!
